Finance Director
The City of Rio Dell is seeking an experienced, hands-on finance professional to direct and administer all activities of the Finance Department — including accounting, budgeting, grant management, payroll, utility billing, investments, and financial reporting. Working under the general direction of the City Manager, the Finance Director serves as a key member of the City's management team and as the leader of Department’s staff of four FTE’s.

WHAT YOU'LL DO • Administer and monitor grants, including fiscal reporting and compliance, capital project finance, disbursement and reimbursement filings etc. • Direct all Finance Department operations, including AP/AR, budgeting, payroll, and utility billing • Partner with the City Manager to build and manage the City's annual operating budget • Oversee the City's investment program and treasury functions • Coordinate the annual audit and author the financial analysis section • Calculate and lead development of utility rate adjustments • Supervise, train, and evaluate Finance Department staff |
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field • 7+ years of responsible public financial administration experience, including supervisory experience • Strong knowledge of governmental accounting, GAAP, and municipal budgeting • Working knowledge of treasury and debt management principles • Clear communicator, comfortable presenting to Council and the public • Thrives in an independent environment • Valid California Class C Driver's License |

- Wage: $96,538 – $117,343
- Retirement: Rio Dell has a 457(b) retirement system, not CalPERS. Up to 20% total (12% city contributed base plus a 4% match on the employee's voluntary 4% contribution)
