The City of Roseville, California, invites experienced and forward-thinking public-sector leaders to apply for the position of Public Affairs and Communications (PAC) Director. Reporting to the City Manager, this executive-level role provides strategic and operational leadership for a highly visible department that ensures effective communications and legislative advocacy for a large, full-service municipal organization. Our ideal candidate is an excellent communicator and relationship builder known for their professionalism, political acumen, sound judgment, sensitivity to community issues and being a connected industry expert. • Broad knowledge of best practices in communications and marketing techniques, public relations and community outreach, with the ability to be agile in meeting digital accessibility standards and embracing new technologies

• Experience presenting to a variety of audiences, working with executive teams, and collaborating with other departments and public agencies

Experience:

• Seven years of increasingly responsible experience in communications or public relations, including three years of administrative and management responsibility.

AND
Training:

• Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.

AND
License or Certificate:

• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver’s license.
• Possession of an Accredited Public Relations (APR) certificate issued by the Public Relations Society of America or California Association of Public Information Officials is desirable.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Annual Salary: $155,020 – $207,742 DOE/DOQ, PLUS Benefits package.
