The City of Lompoc seeks a collaborative, approachable, and community-focused leader with a strong understanding of public policy, municipal operations, and the opportunities and challenges of a growing community. The ideal candidate will recognize the tremendous potential of the City’s hundreds of acres of vacant, city-owned land and bring the vision, strategic leadership, and collaborative approach needed to guide thoughtful development and foster long-term economic growth. Qualified candidates will possess a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position. The typical background includes a bachelor's degree in public administration, political science, or a related field, along with five years of progressively responsible management and project management experience. A master's degree is highly desirable. Experience serving in a management role within a California full-service municipality is preferred.
The annual salary range for the Assistant City Manager is $156,477.98 - $212,894.86; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
